Irish island where drinks are on the house? (9)
I believe the answer is:
innisfree
'irish island' is the definition.
'innisfree' can be an answer for 'island' (Irish island). I am unsure of the 'irish' bit.
'drinks are on the house?' is the wordplay.
'drinks are' becomes 'innis' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'on the house?' becomes 'free' (something on the house is given away free).
'innis'+'free'='INNISFREE'
'where' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for innisfree that I've seen before include "Island" , "The Lake Isle of --, (W. B. Yeats)" , "` `I will arise and go now / and go to .........' ' (Yeats)" .)
