I believe the answer is:

no can do

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'it's impossible' is the definition.
('no can do' can mean something is impossible)

'note to invest in new food e-tailer' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'note' could be 'do' (as in do-re-mi) and 'do' is found in the answer.
'new' could be 'n' (common abbreviation eg NT for New Testament) and 'n' is located in the answer.
'food' could be 'a' (A is an example) and 'a' is present in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
