Jack goes to it, sitting next to Ted (3)
I believe the answer is:
sea
'jack goes' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot understand how one could define the other.
'it sitting next to ted' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'it' could be 'e' ('e' can mean 'electronic' which is similar to 'IT') and 'e' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'sa' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'to' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for sea that I've seen before include "Division of an ocean" , "Expanse of salt water" , "The main" , "Eg, Aral, Ross, Irish" , "The Med, e.g." .)
