Crossword Genius

Kitchen implement in brass, with a lot of glass (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

saucepan

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'kitchen implement' is the definition.
'saucepan' can be an answer for 'implement' (saucepan is a kind of implement). I'm unsure of the 'kitchen' bit.

'in brass with a lot of glass' is the wordplay.
'in brass' becomes 'sauce' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'with' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'a lot of' means to remove the last letter (I've seen 'lots of' mean this (the majority of the word)).
'glass' becomes 'pane' (I've seen this before).
'pane' with its final letter taken away is 'pan'.
'sauce'+'pan'='SAUCEPAN'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for saucepan that I've seen before include "Cooking utensil" , "kitchenware" , "Kitchen utensil" , "pot-boiler?" , "kitchen item" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
