Leave the road and stop (4,3)
I believe the answer is:
turn off
'stop' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both to do with contact as well as being verbs in their base form.
Perhaps you can see an association between them that I can't see?
I don't understand the remainder of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for turn off that I've seen before include "Leave the main road" , "something truly unexciting" , "bore" , "stop operating" , "boring" .)
