Living accommodation north of the border (5)
I believe the answer is:
manse
'living accommodation' is the definition.
'manse' can be an answer for 'accommodation' (I've seen this before). I'm unsure of the 'living' bit.
'north of the border' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'north' could be 'n' (synonyms) and 'n' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'mase' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for manse that I've seen before include "Ecclesiastical residence" , "Scots minister's house" , "Scottish minister's residence" , "building near church?" , "Religious home" .)
