Manage to capture a key part (4)
I believe the answer is:
cope
'manage' is the definition.
(manage can mean to cope or do well)
'capture a key part' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'key' could be 'e' (musical key) and 'e' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'cop' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for cope that I've seen before include "loser of Prestonpans" , "Deal with, manage successfully" , "top on wall" , "Priest's cloak; deal (with)" , "Manage effectively" .)
