Mocks and devours (6)
I believe the answer is:
scoffs
This might be a double definition.
'mocks' is the first definition.
(I've seen this before)
'devours' is the second definition.
Although both the answer and definition are verbs in their -s form, I don't see how one could define the other.
'and' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for scoffs that I've seen before include "Derides or drinks slangily" , "Mocks - eats" , "Jeers or drinks up" , "Abandons diet" , "derisive remarks" .)
