One's destiny is to get rich at the end (4)
I believe the answer is:
fate
'one's destiny' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'rich at the end' is the wordplay.
'rich' becomes 'fat' (rich can describe fat or creamy food).
'at' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'end' says to take the final letters.
The final letter of 'the' is 'e'.
'fat'+'e'='FATE'
'is to get' is the link.
I am not very happy about this link. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for fate that I've seen before include "Predetermined end" , "E.g. Clotho, Atropos" , "Predestiny" , "What must be" , "Clotho, Lachesis or Atropos" .)
