Pole dancing doctor lubed after rotation? (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

limbo

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'pole dancing' is the definition.
'limbo' can be an answer for 'dancing' (limbo is a type of dance). I'm not certain of the 'pole' bit.

'doctor lubed after rotation?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'doctor' could be 'mb' (Bachelor of Medicine, Medicinae Baccalaureus) and 'mb' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for limbo that I've seen before include "State of unceratinty" , "West Indian dance - state of uncertainty" , "Uncertain time awaiting decision" , "West Indian pole dancing" , "Prison" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
