Policy of factory rejecting new mould (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

platform

'policy' is the definition.
(I have seen 'political policy' mean 'platform' so perhaps 'policy' could also mean 'platform')

'factory rejecting new mould' is the wordplay.
'factory' becomes 'plant' (a manufacturing plant).
'rejecting' is a deletion indicator.
'new' becomes 'n' (abbreviation as in New Testament NT).
'mould' becomes 'form' (synonyms).
'plant' with 'n' taken away is 'plat'.
'plat'+'form'='PLATFORM'

'of' is the link.

(Other definitions for platform that I've seen before include "Raised area for speakers" , "Supporting structure" , "Stand (taken by speakers?)" , "Shoe with a high, thick sole" , "Raised flooring or stage" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times and The Telegraph.
