Praise for King, King's brother and King's clown? (6)
I believe the answer is:
credit
'praise' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'king king's brother and king's clown?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'king' could be 'cr' (short for Carolus Rex, King Charles in Latin) and 'cr' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'edit' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'for' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for credit that I've seen before include "Acknowledgement of a contributor" , "acknowledgement of liability" , "Acknowledgment, recognition or praise" , "Opposite of debit" , "Belief - trust - favourable acknowledgment" .)
