Prepare another fire? (6)
I believe the answer is:
reload
'prepare' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are verbs in their base form, I don't see how they can define each other.
'another fire?' is the wordplay.
'another' becomes 're' (I've seen this in other clues).
'fire?' becomes 'load' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
're'+'load'='RELOAD'
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for reload that I've seen before include "Fill (a gun) again" , "Prepare to fire again" , "Encumber again" , "Put new ammunition in gun" , "Put in another charge" .)
