Push the boat out and depart (5,3)
I believe the answer is:
shove off
'depart' is the definition.
(I know that shove off is a kind of depart)
'push the boat out' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'push' could be 'shove' (shoving is a kind of pushing) and 'shove' is found within the answer.
'out' could be 'off' (I've seen this before) and 'off' is present in the answer.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'and' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for shove off that I've seen before include "Push the boat out - go away!" , "Sling your hook!" .)
