I believe the answer is:

elopes

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'away with the idea of getting into partnership' is the definition.
I can't tell whether this defines the answer.

'runs' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'runs' could be 'lopes' (loping is a kind of running) and 'lopes' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Another definition for elopes that I've seen is " Runs away to get married".)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
