I believe the answer is:

throw a fit

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'see red' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both to do with human feelings as well as being verbs in their base form.
Perhaps you can see an association between them that I can't see?

'pitch area before match' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'pitch' could be 'throw' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'throw' is found within the answer.
'area' could be 'a' (maths abbreviation) and 'a' is present in the answer.
'match' could be 'fit' (synonyms) and 'fit' is found within the answer.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for throw a fit that I've seen before include "Rage" , "Express extreme anger" , "Go mad" , "get very angry" , "Become very angry (colloq.)" .)

I've seen this clue in The Daily Express.
