Setter replaced a handy fix (6)
I believe the answer is:
remedy
'fix' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'setter replaced a handy' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'setter' could be 'me' (the setter of the clue) and 'me' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for remedy that I've seen before include "Put right, be a cure for" , "Nostrum" , "Medicine or therapy that cures disease or relieves pain" , "A treatment for disease" , "Antidote" .)
