Shopping mall is concealed, name is missing, beginning to display instead (6)
I believe the answer is:
arcade
'shopping mall' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'concealed name is missing beginning to display instead' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'name' could be 'cad' and 'cad' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'are' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'is' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for arcade that I've seen before include "Shopping passage" , "Here one may find shops" , "Covered walk with shops" , "Covered passage of e.g. shops" , "games area?" .)
