Somebody with inclination to be less fat? (6)

I believe the answer is:

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'be less fat?' is the definition.
('lean' can be the opposite of 'fat?' so perhaps 'leaner' is reasonable for 'less fat?')

'somebody with inclination' is the wordplay.
'somebody' becomes 'er' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'with' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'inclination' becomes 'lean' (synonyms).
'er' put after 'lean' is 'LEANER'.

'to' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for leaner that I've seen before include "less bulky" , "less productive" , "less corpulent?" , "One with an inclination" , "Thinner, with less fat" .)

I've seen this clue in The Irish News.
