Son gets bite in tiny spot (5)
I believe the answer is:
speck
'tiny spot' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'son gets bite' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'son' could be 's' (genealogical abbreviation for son) and 's' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'peck' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'in' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for speck that I've seen before include "Bit of dust" , "Dot" , "Small mark" , "Italian ham" , "smoked ham" .)
