Sort of dancing associated with a low bar (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

limbo

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This clue could be a double definition.

'sort of dancing' is the first definition.
'limbo' can be an answer for 'dancing' (limbo is a type of dance). I'm unsure of the 'sort of' bit.

'a low bar' is the second definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how they can define each other.

'associated with' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for limbo that I've seen before include "Unsettled state" , "It used to be a place between Heaven and Hell" , "Place of suspense" , "Once the supposed abode of unbaptised souls of babies" , "Where waiters are" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
