Spot a sound spot (5)
I believe the answer is:
sight
'spot' is the definition.
(both can mean to notice or observe)
'spot a sound' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'sound' could be 'sigh' (sigh is a kind of sound) and 'sigh' is found within the answer.
A single letter 't' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for sight that I've seen before include "Place worth visiting" , "Device used in aiming" , "Could be a jolly" , "Sense" , "object of especial interest" .)
