Spots of trouble? (4,6)
I believe the answer is:
sore points
'trouble?' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I can't judge whether this works.
'spots' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'spots' could be 'points' ('point' can be a synonym of 'spot') and 'points' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'sore' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'of' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
I've seen this clue in The Globe and Mail.
