Crossword Genius

Stupid problem, fare from China (3,3)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

dim sum

'fare from china' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'stupid problem' is the wordplay.
'stupid' becomes 'dim' (similar in meaning).
'problem' becomes 'sum' (arithmetic problem).
'dim'+'sum'='DIM SUM'

(Other definitions for dim sum that I've seen before include "whets Chinese appetites" , "Selection of Chinese foods as appetizer" , "fare from China" , "Chinese fare" , "Selection of Chinese appetizers" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
