Swiped round the neck! (5)
I believe the answer is:
stole
'swiped' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'round the neck' is the wordplay.
'round' is an insertion indicator.
'the' becomes 't' (the is pronounced as a 't' sound in some dialects).
'neck' becomes 'sole' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
't' placed inside 'sole' is 'STOLE'.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for stole that I've seen before include "Wrap, possibly with fur" , "Wide scarf worn about the shoulders" , "Made off with clerical vestment?" , "Long shawl" , "Garment; took unlawfully" .)
