Crossword Genius

Tease about black clothing (4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

garb

'clothing' is the definition.
(I know that garb is a type of clothing)

'tease about black' is the wordplay.
'tease' becomes 'rag' (synonyms).
'about' says the letters should be written backwards.
'black' becomes 'b' (abbreviation as in pencil hardness).
'rag' written backwards gives 'gar'.
'gar'+'b'='GARB'

(Other definitions for garb that I've seen before include "Clothes to brag about" , "Kit" , "Outfit" , "Attire, clothing" , "Clothe" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
