Crossword Genius

That is solid inside: needs to be shaken, love (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

idolise

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'love' is the definition.
(I know that idolise is a more specific form of adore)

'that is solid inside needs to be shaken' is the wordplay.
'that is' becomes 'i' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'inside' says to take the centre.
'to be shaken' is an anagram indicator.
The central letter of 'needs' is 'e'.
'solid'+'e'='solide'
'solide' anagrammed gives 'dolise'.
'i'+'dolise'='IDOLISE'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for idolise that I've seen before include "put on a pedestal" , "Pay excessive attention to" , "Revere, love greatly" , "Hero-worship, revere" , "Pay inordinate attention to" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
