I believe the answer is:

gambled

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'took a risk' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both to do with social activities as well as being past participle verbs.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'after golf went for a stroll' is the wordplay.
'after' says to put letters next to each other.
'golf' becomes 'g' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.).
'went for a stroll' becomes 'ambled' (I've seen this in another clue).
'g' next to 'ambled' is 'GAMBLED'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for gambled that I've seen before include "Speculated - took chances" , "Wagered" , "Took a chance" , "Took a punt" , "Made a bet" .)

I've seen this clue in The Daily Mail.
