'razor sharpeners' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'turning wrong way wears' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'way' could be 'st' (abbreviation for street) and 'st' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for strops that I've seen before include "bits of leather" , "temper tantrums" , "Sharpens on piece of leather" , "Strips of leather to sharpen razors" , "Sharpens on leather for sports" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
