Urges newspapers (7)
I believe the answer is:
presses
'urges' is the definition.
('press' can be a synonym of 'urge')
'newspapers' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'newspapers' could be 'press' (I've seen this before) and 'press' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'es' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for presses that I've seen before include "Irons" , "Machines for printing" , "Pushes" , "Machines to extract, eg, olive oil" .)
