I cannot really understand how this works, but
'work' could be 'erg' (an erg is a unit of work done) and 'erg' is present in the answer.
'unit' could be 'ci' (Ci is an example) and 'ci' is located in the answer.
'shape' could be 'cone' (coning is a kind of shaping) and 'cone' is found in the remaining letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
