Water meadow? (3)
I believe the answer is:
lea
'meadow?' is the definition.
(a lea is a grassy area)
'water' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'water' could be 'ea' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'ea' is found within the answer.
A single letter 'l' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for lea that I've seen before include "River flowing through London" , "Poetically, a piece of meadow or pasture" , "Field" , "Open area of grassy or arable land" , "Grazing land" .)
