Went through the exercises, bored (7)
I believe the answer is:
drilled
'bored' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'went through the exercises' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'went' could be 'led' (leading is a kind of going) and 'led' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for drilled that I've seen before include "soldiers may be treated thus" , "Made a hole with a pointed tool" , "given military instruction" , "Bored a hole or trained by repetition" .)
