When a politician takes office, there's ceremony (4)
I believe the answer is:
pomp
'ceremony' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'when a politician takes office' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'politician' could be 'mp' (Member of Parliament) and 'mp' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'po' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'there's' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for pomp that I've seen before include "Ostentation - vanity" , "Boastful display" , "Ceremoniousness" , "Splendid ceremonial" , "Grandiosity" .)
