Ross

I believe the answer is:

mall

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'where mum needs ps50 to go shopping?' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot understand how one could define the other.

'where mum' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'mum' could be 'ma' (both can mean mother) and 'ma' is found within the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for mall that I've seen before include "Shopping facility" , "Sheltered walk or promenade" , "Traffic-free street" , "Shopping precinct" , "Glowing material in fire" .)

I've seen this clue in the Evening Standard.
