Ross

I believe the answer is:

up a gum tree

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a koala in difficulties?' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I cannot judge whether this works.

'where one may' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'one' could be 'a' (a thing is one thing) and 'a' is found within the answer.
'may' could be 'tree' (I've seen this before) and 'tree' is located in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'find' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for up a gum tree that I've seen before include "In a sticky situation" , "Where koala may be" , "In a difficult situation" , "In a sticky position" , "in trouble" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
