Who spends a little more for a work truck? (6)
I believe the answer is:
tipper
'truck?' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'who spends a little more for a work' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'a' could be 'per' (eg 'one a day' means 'one per day') and 'per' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'tip' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for tipper that I've seen before include "One giving a gratuity" , "One giving gratuities - truck" , "Giver of gratuity" , "Dumping truck - one paying gratuity" , "One who thankfully pays extra" .)
