I believe the answer is:
node
'point?' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Point of intersection' mean 'node' so perhaps 'point' could also mean 'node')
I don't understand the rest of the clue.
(Other definitions for node that I've seen before include "Network junction" , "Intersection in a network" , "Where network lines meet" , "Point in network where lines intersect or branch" , "part of network" .)
