Ball in house, on having bounced back (6)
I believe the answer is:
yorker
'ball' is the definition.
(cricket term)
'house on having bounced back' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'house' could be 'york' (I've seen this before) and 'york' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'er' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'in' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for yorker that I've seen before include "Delivery pitching directly under the bat" , "Delivery coming down late" , "often new" , "Cricket ball pitched to the bat" , "Cricket delivery, pitching under the bat" .)
