Crossword Genius

Charm rogue taken in by a supporter twice (11)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

abracadabra

'charm' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'rogue taken in by a supporter twice' is the wordplay.
'rogue' becomes 'cad' (I've seen this in another clue).
'taken in by' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'supporter' becomes 'bra' (a bra gives support to breasts).
'twice' indicates the doubling of some letters.
'a'+'bra'='abra'
'abra' doubled is 'abraabra'.
'cad' put within 'abraabra' is 'ABRACADABRA'.

(Other definitions for abracadabra that I've seen before include "it's said, for a spell" , "Word used by conjuror" , "Magical incantation" , "Magic word - gibberish!" , "Word said to trick" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
