Continental river in which fish are caught (5)
I believe the answer is:
seine
'continental river' is the definition.
'Seine' can be an answer for 'river' (river in France). I am not certain of the 'continental' bit.
'in which fish are caught' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'in' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'see' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for seine that I've seen before include "Paris river" , "Paris's river" , "Parisian river" , "French river -- type of fishing net" , "Second longest river in France" .)
