Crossword Genius

Dance when CEO tips sodium on eggs (5,4)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

bossa nova

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'dance' is the definition.
(Brazilian dance)

'ceo tips sodium on eggs' is the wordplay.
'ceo' becomes 'boss' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'tips' shows that the letters should be reversed in order (I've seen 'tipped' mean this).
'sodium' becomes 'NA' (Na is the chemical symbol for sodium).
'on' says to put letters next to each other.
'eggs' becomes 'ova' (term for egg cells).
'na' in reverse letter order is 'an'.
'boss'+'an'+'ova'='BOSSA NOVA'

'when' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for bossa nova that I've seen before include "steps taken" , "Brazilian music, rhythmically related to the samba" , "Brazil's measure" , "lively dance" , "(Music for) a Brazilian dance" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
