Dislike "Day after the earthquake" (6)
I believe the answer is:
hatred
'dislike' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'day after the earthquake' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'day' could be 'd' (abbreviation for day) and 'd' is present in the answer.
'the' could be 't' (the is pronounced as a 't' sound in some dialects) and 't' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'hare' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for hatred that I've seen before include "Abhorrence, detestation" , "Great dislike" , "'Loathing, enmity (6)'" , "Detestation, loathing" , "Dearth (anag)" .)
