Ross

I believe the answer is:

eyesores

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'dumps' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'articulate upright character with flies?' is the wordplay.
'articulate' shows a homophone (sound like) (articulated or said out loud).
'upright character' becomes 'I' (vertical letter of the alphabet).
'with' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'flies?' becomes 'sores' (I can't explain this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'i' is a homophone of 'eye'.
'eye'+'sores'='EYESORES'

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for eyesores that I've seen before include "They're very ugly to the eye" , "views people find offensive" , "unattractive prospects" , "They are offensive to see" , "ugly looking things" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
