Where boxer retires in disgrace? (8)
I believe the answer is:
doghouse
'disgrace?' is the definition.
(as in being 'in the doghouse')
'where boxer retires' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'boxer' could be 'dog' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'dog' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'house' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'in' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for doghouse that I've seen before include "Location of disfavour - kennel" , "for a boxer to get into?" , "disgraceful environment" , "where one is in disgrace?" , "Kennel (US)" .)
