Ross

I believe the answer is:

axle

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

This could be a double definition.

'declared skater's leap' is the first definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.

'a turning point' is the second definition.
(a rotating part of a machine or vehicle)

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for axle that I've seen before include "Rod connecting wheels" , "Mandrel" , "Bar on which wheels rotate" , "Rod attachment to wheels" , "Wheel pivot" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
