Small cases of vegetables (4)
I believe the answer is:
pods
'cases of vegetables' is the definition.
'pods' can be an answer for 'cases' (pod is a kind of case). I am not certain of the 'of vegetables' bit.
'small' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'small' could be 's' (abbreviation - e.g. clothes size) and 's' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'pod' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for pods that I've seen before include "Pea-jackets" , "Groups of dolphins" , "Seed cases" , "From enclosed cabins" , "some seals" .)
